About Steven Lopez
Steven Lopez has always been fond of art. His earliest childhood memories are sprinkled with colorful murals around Boyle Heights. After high school Lopez made a choice to move out of state and attend the University of Oregon. He graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Fine Arts.

With guidance and encouragement from friends, professors and classmates, Lopez began sharing his art with the public. This period of his life cultivated life long relationships that inspire his work to this day.

Early on Lopez discovered that Jazz, Funk, Soul and Blues seemed to be ingrained into his very being. Not only did these influences release his creativity, they brought his unique contemporary urban style to life. You can see this in every facet of his creativity. Lopez’s work has been featured with Reebok, Nestle, Dunkin’ Donuts, Coachella, Pepsi, United Way, and Spy Optic. Noted celebrities that have worked with him include Erykah Badu, Akon and Jill Scott.. He has also made appearances on Fuel TV, BBC and the Discovery Channel.

Lopez’s work is inspired by relationships he cultivates with people, music, and art. What he learns from lifes experience is the foundation of his work. His formula is and always will be story, substance and then style.

About Tazroc:
Brian Garcia was born December 24th 1971 in Eugene Oregon.
A Chicano artist that’s artwork is heavily influenced by Chicano culture.
Brian was inspired at a young age by his uncles prison art and he developed a passion for drawing.
He is a self-taught artist that slowly mastered his art skills one drawing at a time.
When he was 14, he devoted himself to bicycle flatland freestyle in which he performed and competed all over the country.
During his travels, he was inspired by the graffiti he saw in all of the major cities. After earning a reputation in freestyle for fast spinning tricks, he acquired the nickname “TAZ” after the caricature Tasmanian devil. Which later turned into “Tazroc”.
In 1987 Brian begun to explore the culture of hip hop and started painting graffiti art. What started as a hobby soon turned into a passion that he had a real talent for.
Brian wanted to take this art form to the next level but realized he needed to do it in a legal forum. His frustration for having to do his artwork illegally is what led him to legalize walls.
These walls gave not only Brian but other kids a way to express themselves through art. He started educating the inner-city youth through holding events and workshops to provide a creative outlet.
In 1992, Brian along with a few close friends created DefCon 5. A group consisting of graffiti artist and bboy’s.
Looking to expand his career as an artist he moved to Los Angeles in 2000. After moving to Los Angeles, he started his own business painting custom murals on Lowriders. Many of his clients were in the Hollywood industry which eventually led him to film sets, music videos, and commercials.
He is now a renowned graffiti artist known by many for his spraycan photo realism. His Urban art has been featured in numerous commercials, music videos, ad campaign’s, and charity events. Brian Garcia’s masterpieces are now being commissioned at art galleries around Los Angeles.
